Rift Online

keeps attracting more and more players but I am getting a lot of people asking me if I know of a Rift trial version. As of right now there isn’t one and it’s hard to say if that will change, at least in the near future.

I know World of Warcraft has one but I don’t believe they offered a trial until the game had been around for some time. Don’t quote me on that but that is my understanding.

And really, when I had tried to sign up for a WOW trial, the download had tied up my computer for a half a day and had lots to go so I passed on it and bought the game. I’m thinking Rift would have the same issue. So if you want to play Rift online, better buy the game and get started instead of waiting to see if a free trial is ever going to be made available..

Leveling Speed in Rift

Leveling in Rift is not an easy task. But if you know where to go and when to go there, it does not have to be that hard.

Questing should be your number one method of leveling. Keep in mind though that if you see a Rift, you need to take advantage of it as quickly as possible and obtain the Experience points it delivers.

PvP Warfronts and dungeons also provide XP, so there isn’t any reason you should ever be grinding mindlessly on mobs trying to level up.

Making platinum in Rift is difficult when you first begin playing the game. It is going to be difficult coming up with the two pieces you’ll need by level 20 for your initial mount as well as the rest you will need by level 30 and 40 so you can begin upgrading your gear and other items. But if you prepare correctly at the beginning, you will be way ahead of many other players.

To being, you should definitely select two and even 3 gathering professions from the very start. This is going to allow you to make gold and platinum while you level up without having to search for it.

Additionally you can begin to use the auction house to sell your drops such as scrolls along with the ore and plants you gather. The earlier you begin loading up on the professions which will be utilized at level 50, the better you’ll do.

Rift is an MMORPG set in the fantasy world of Telara, which is the focal point of several different planes (worlds). These worlds have just invaded Telara, causing rifts to open.

Anyone ever watch Hot Wheels? My grandson does and I liken these worlds to the realms in Hot Wheels.

The rifts begin to spawn monsters which begin to march towards important points on the map. Now it’s up to players to defeat these monsters in order to close the rift.

If these rifts are are not stopped, the invading monsters will eventually conquer large portions of the map, meaning killing and greatly impairing the players in that area. Players don’t have to be in a group in order to join a rift and they are rewarded for many things, including healing, attacking and buffing. The severity and locations of the rifts are completely dynamic. Rifts of 6 different types (ie. earth, fire, air, water, life, and death) are possible, and rifts of different types oppose each other.

Rift is a brand new game that shows a lot of promise. Will it become the next World of Warcraft? Hard to say but it might.

It officially releases March 1st but many are already playing this game now, having registered early.
