U.S. Vacation Spots

Top U.S. Vacation Spots

U.S. Vacation SpotsIt’s nice if you can afford to travel to other countries but, with the economy the way it is, many families simply cannot afford to do so.

The good news is there are plenty of outstanding vacation spots right here in the United States. There’s no reason you should ever run out of places to see.

If you really want to treat your kids, take them to either Disneyland in California or Disney World in Florida. We have been to both and I don’t know that I have a preference. My wife and I went to Disneyland on our honeymoon and we took my daughter for her high school graduation trip.

In between we went to Disney World as it is about half the distance from home and we drove there. What I liked about that was Gatorland was nearby, as was Universal Studios and more. St. Augustine is also a great old historical city you should include on your trip.

As to California, my wife was born and raised there and we visit her family yearly. Vacation spots we visited included the city of San Francisco with the cable cars and world’s crookedest road, along with Fisherman’s Wharf. The beach is my grandson’s favorite and the coastline is loaded with numerous beaches.

Vermont was a favorite when we toured the east coast. Look at the picture on this page. So pretty and peaceful and laid back. The Green Mountains are a nice backdrop.

Salem, Massachusetts was also one of my favorites. I always was fascinated with witches from the days of Bewitched, and this was just a enjoyable place to visit.

The Grand Canyon! You have to see it. It’s breathtaking. Not to mention you’ll add Mt. Rushmore to your list while in that area. Along with the Black Hills.

I’ll cover these vacation spots and more. But no vacation site should ever neglect Niagara Falls. Now I’ll have to cheat on that one when we go into it. It’s true that you can visit the Falls on the New York side and the view is excellent plus there are things to do such as the Maid of the Mist boat ride. Take it!

But crossing over to Canada opens up your Niagara Falls visit. In fact, when we go there we stay on the Canadian side. Now you need a passport but relax. I’ll tell you about the type to use here so you don’t spend a bundle.
